Saman Turkish Restaurant

-

In the crowd-free alley between the two Sun Square Silom’s buildings, Saman Turkish is a unique addition to one of Bangkok’s oldest Thai neighbourhoods. The restaurant is a hit among the Turkish crowd that gathers there to devour Kuzu pirizola kebab (B750) or charcoal-grilled lamb chops, and Kusbasili pide (B270) or Turkish flatbread topped with ground lamb, cheese and egg.

Saman Turkish’s interior is slick, brightly-lit with colourful decor, that resembles the Turkish flag. When it’s time to order, choose the Yogurtlu kebab (B330), a layer of minced lamb kebab and sliced bread steeped in garlicky yoghurt and a big plate of Saman karisik izgara (B650) or mixed grilled kebabs along with a traditional Turkish circular bread, called simit (B50).

For desserts, get the Baklava (B200). The flaky filo pastry filled with crushed walnuts and pistachios is rich and sweet and pairs perfectly with Kahve (B100), Turkish coffee that has a strong flavour profile, with a bitter aftertaste.
