Highlighte­d items are such as a starter of crispy taro root with sweet chilli sauce and crushed peanut; a main dish of rice noodle in Southern-style yellow curry; and aloe vera and butterfly pea compote dessert. Meanwhile Akira Back’s vegetarian offerings include eringi pizza with aioli, shiso and white truffle oil; and grilled cauliflowe­r tobanyaki style with garlic oil and mixed mushroom. And at Pagoda restaurant, double-boiled mushroom soup with wolfberry; stir-fried lady finger with Lao Gan Ma soybean sauce; and braised assorted mushrooms are highlighte­d.

October: More than 30 varieties of Cantonese dim sum are on offer at Sui Sian Chinese restaurant’s lunch buffet. Dishes include steamed fresh shrimp dumpling; steamed rice noodles rolled with barbecue pork; deepfried mashed taro with barbecue pork; deep-fried prawns with mayonnaise; double-boiled wonton soup; and steamed salted egg yolk custard buns. Prices are 720 baht per person on Friday and 900 baht per person on Saturday and Sunday. Peking duck and suckling pig are available only on Saturday and Sunday.

Dishes include Alaskan king crab with avocado and peach; bean cream soup and foie gras; homemade beef cheek ravioli with Castelmagn­o cheese and black truffle; slow-roasted US short rib with smoked potato purée and burnt onion sauce; pan-fried duck breast with cherry and liquorice sauce; and tiramisu dessert. Prices are 2,350 baht per person for a three-course meal; 2,950 baht for a four-course meal; and 3,200 baht for a five-course meal.

Recommende­d dishes include beef tartare; a trio platter of of A4 striploin, lumpfish caviar and uni; a Wagyu sukiyaki with truffle egg yolk and black truffle oil; sour and spicy northeaste­rn Thai style salad of char-grilled striploin; a herbal soup with beef and garcenia; and southern Thai beef curry with tree basil leaves. A new special menu focusing on fresh Phuket lobster is also offered at The House of Smooth Curry Thai restaurant. The crustacean is paired with local vegetables, fruits and herbs. Recommende­d are lobster salad with salak fruit, cashew nuts and chilli paste; stir-fried lobster with black galangal, young peppercorn and garlic; and red lobster curry with noni leaves.

Eastin Grand Sathorn (02-210-8100) October and November: With a minimum spending of 3,799 baht per bill, get a compliment­ary night stay for two persons in a superior room when dining at Blunos or The Glass House restaurant. Meanwhile, Blunos’ recommende­d dishes include risotto tom yum goong, Wagyu beef spaghetti, New England classic lobster rolls, a beef burger with bone marrow, braised beef cheek on horseradis­h cream, and carbonara with Shanghai rolled noodles.

Until Oct 25: Michelin-starred Elements restaurant introduces a new series of tasting menus. Dishes include fresh Ostra Regal oyster with abalone, gelé celery apple and dashi foam; Yoichi monkfish with clam and Japanese curry; Kyoto Sawara fish with watercress velouté and lemon caviar; grilled Satsuma Wagyu beef; and Tannea milk chocolate cremeaux with iced blackcurra­nt and musk melon. Prices are 4,000 baht for a six-course dinner; and 4,500 baht for a seven-course set. Meanwhile Yamazato’s highlighte­d dish for the autumn season include simmered soy milk skin roll with royal fern, pumpkin, eggplant, carrot and seasonal saury fish; steamed octopus, shrimp and surf clam with maitake mushroom and ginko nuts; crab meat dumpling with mushroom and sea lettuce soup; tempura snow crab, shrimp and cutlass fish; hobayaki-style grilled Spanish mackerel and beef with eringi mushroom and ginko nuts; and hot vermicelli noodles with pike eel and shimeji mushroom. Lunch set costs 1,600 baht per person while kaiseki dinner set is priced at 4,700 baht per person.

October: Mushroom potsticker and cauliflowe­r fritter with edamame, beetroot, coconut, pine nut, and chilli garlic sauce is a highlighte­d vegetarian dish at The Kitchen Table restaurant.

October: Praya Kitchen reopens with buffet lunch and dinner. Highlights are a selection of mud crabs, blue crabs, spanner crabs, three-spot swimming crabs and softshell crabs, offered on weekends. Other recommende­d options include crab curry with wild betal leaves, Australian dried age beef steak, spicy pork and tomato dip, herbal soya beans with minced shrimp and pork, spicy pork bone soup, pork belly curry with chamuang leaves and Thai boat noodles. Lunch costs 1,088 baht per person on Friday and 1,388 per person on Saturday. Dinner costs 1,388 baht per person, Wednesday to Friday; and 1,688 baht per person, Saturday and Sunday.

Chatrium Riverside (02-307-8888) Oct 17-25: River Barge restaurant offers a wide selection of vegetarian dishes including vegetable and tofu rice noodle roll; wok-fried rice with mixed vegetables wrapped in lotus leaf; and double-steamed bamboo pith with black mushrooms soup.

Pullman Hotel G (02-352-4000) October: Maine lobster is the highlighte­d ingredient at Scarlett French restaurant. Dishes include a lobster salad with avocado and garlic chips, lobster ravioli with foie gras and truffle emulsion, smoked lobster with Iberico ham, poached lobster in a double boiled consommé, buttered lobster risotto with red wine sauce, stewed lobster with Champagne bisque and wood-fire grilled lobster with Australian Black Angus tomahawk Surf’n’Turf style. Prices start from 480 baht per dish. For every 5,000 baht spent on food and beverage at Scarlett, guests will receive one compliment­ary night stay in a G Deluxe Room with a 50% discount on breakfast.

Expect to find new items such as wok-fried flat chicken noodles and sukiyaki with vast selections of gourmet dishes including exquisite sushi and sashimi, lobster thermidor, pan-seared foie gras, beef Wellington, Peking duck and rotisserie chicken. October: Every Friday, a special dinner buffet is featured at Viu restaurant with a seafood tower on ice and unlimited a la carte dishes prepared to order as highlights. Expect to find New Zealand mussels, river prawns, fresh Fine de Claire oysters, shrimp cocktail, assorted sushi and sashimi and whole lobster. Recommende­d a la carte menu are seared foie gras with balsamic reduction; grilled beef striploin with roasted vegetables and red wine jus; grilled lamb rack with lamb jus; and grilled pork chop with spicy sauce. Smoked salmon with bonito, wasabi cream, ponzu and cucumber; tom yumsoup, prawn cracker, shrimp taco, lobster and tofu noodles; krapao foie gras and chicken heart with basil Hollandais­e and crispy rice; beef with sweet soy glaze, pickled kumquat and crispy beef baked rice; lychee flambé with rose foam; and grilled sweet corn with sticky rice, corn ice cream, popcorn and salted coconut soup are among the highlighte­d creations. Prices are 2,600 baht and 3,200 baht per person for a six-course and eightcours­e dinner; and 1,850 baht and 2,600 baht per person for four-course and six-course lunch. Additional wine pairing costs 1,200 baht-2,300 baht per person.

October: Every Friday and Saturday, Patummat restaurant features seafood-centric dinner buffet. Expect to find fresh oysters, mussels and squid from the ice bar as well as a plenty of river prawns, rock lobster and blue crab, to be cooked to your order.
