Come explore our many different identities
SAC Gallery presents “The Place Of Memories”, which will take viewers to explore the self between the real and the digital world, from Saturday until June 12.
We’re living in an era where we connect and communicate with each other over social media platforms that allow for the exchange of information, free access to knowledge, and sometimes private information that leaves digital footprints in a digital world.
These footprints create another identity of a person, separating the unity between the real and the digital world as the analogue memories slowly become transferred to the binary number system of the digital memory space.
For this exhibition, three artists — Tewprai Bualoi, Thanawat Numcharoen and Vacharanont Sinvaravatn — use equipment and digital technology as raw materials for their new media art that seeks to draw the line between the digital self and the information set stored in an abstract space that is a part of their experience or memories.
Identities online and in the physical world are paradoxical and separate from each other, which led to the creation of this exhibition to explore the definition of self through memories and contemporary art.
The exhibition will be held on the 3rd floor of Art Centre Building. The opening reception is on April 30 at 6pm. SAC Gallery is on Sukhumvit 33 and opens Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm.
