MUJI REFRESHES AT CENTRAL CHIDLOM

-

Fifteen years ago, Japanese life- style brand Muji opened its first store in Thailand at Central Chidlom. Under a new concept, the store has been relocated to the 7th floor for a larger retail space of 1,800m² in order to accommodate a wider range of products and deliver the Muji experience.

The interior design is simple with natural materials, such as reclaimed wood from old houses from various parts of Thailand. Each area is designed using materials that relate to the products, which include apparel, cosmetics, stationery and household goods.

“The store features an entirely new concept, from design to products and services. We want customers to gain a wonderful experience beyond shopping, and we want them to experience how our products can fit into their everyday life,” said Akihiro Kamogari, managing director of Muji Retail (Thailand).

Furniture and home accessories are displayed in a showroom that simulates a house furnished with Muji products. Home products and new concept apparel by Muji Idée are exclusively available at the new concept store. The more vibrant designs give everyday items a new twist, to make life more interesting.

Modern day life needs nature, and Muji Green has curated a selection of plants suitable for homes, fitting perfectly into your space.

The clothing collections include unisex Muji Labo in basic colours and ReMuji, which creates new value to unsold merchandise by re-dyeing them.

Muji also offers clothing and other products for kids, who can express their imagination in a dedicated area featuring a digital blackboard, created in a partnership between Muji and TeamLab — a Japanese art collective known for countless works that push the boundaries of light and space.

Along with the concept store, Muji has introduced a food and bakery zone that complements the coffee corner.

Founded in 1980, the Japanese brand aims to offer everyday products whose pricing has been adjusted to make them more accessible to consumers.
