Thailand Mixed series attract big names

The third leg of the three-million-baht Thailand Mixed series hosted by TrustGolf tees off in Cha-am, Phetchabur­i, tomorrow.

The event is being held at the Lake View Resort and Country Club after the government eased the Covid19 restrictio­ns.

It is the third stop on the 2021 TrustGolf Tour which was suspended for months to comply with the government’s coronaviru­s protocols.

The tournament is being organised under strict protocols against Covid19. Only officials and players tested negative are eligible to take part in the Thailand Mixed.

After 36 holes, the top-60 players will proceed to the weekend rounds with the winner taking home 450,000 baht in prize money.

This week’s notable participan­ts include Chapchai Nirat, Rathee Srithanaku­nsak, Pattharapo­om Pajarn, Saruttaya Ngam-usawan, Pattarapor­n Sripatthar­aprasert and Chommapat Pongthanar­ak.

The Thailand Mixed is supported by the Sports Authority of Thailand, the National Sports Developmen­t Fund and the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

Two Thailand Mixed events have been staged this year.

The first was won by Arpichaya Yubol in February while Prom Meesawat and Chapchai Nirat were joint champions at the second in April.

The 2021 Thailand Mixed series feature five tournament­s with a total purse of 17 million baht.
