- TOR CHITTINAND

Police Tero stunned Chonburi 2-0 to seal their first win of the Thai League 1 season last night.

Jenphop Phokhi scored both goals for the hosts after 10 and 25 minutes.

Having got off to a fast start to the season, Chonburi have now suffered two consecutive defeats after the Sharks lost to Chiang Rai United at the weekend.

In today’s action, leaders Buriram host Samut Prakan today with both teams confident that they will emerge winners.

Buriram regained their confidence with a 2-0 win at Prachuap at the weekend while Samut Prakan were stunned by newcomers Chiangmai United for their first loss of the season.

The match will be played at Buriram

City Stadium as the Thunder Castle’s Chang Arena is scheduled to host an Asian Cup play-off match.

Buriram coach Alexandre Gama is confident that his men will avenge their loss to Samut Prakan last season.

Samut Prakan coach Masatada Ishii is equally confident that the Sea Fangs will bite the Thunder Castle again.

Also today, champions BG Pathum United are at home to former champions Chiang Rai United.

Pathum coach Aurilio Vidmar will be without defenders Andres Tunez and Victor Cardozo and striker Diogo Luis Santo who all are recovering from injuries.

But the Australian is not much worried about their absence, saying the Rabbits are good enough to beat the Beetles.

Their attack will be led by Teerasil

Dangda and Chenrop Samphaodi.

It will not be an easy task for BG against Chiang Rai whose striker Bill Rosimar scored a hat-trick in his team’s 3-2 win at Chonburi at the weekend.

In a northeastern derby, promoted Khon Kaen United host Nakhon Ratchasima.

Nakhon Ratchasima have enjoyed a good run since former Football Association of Thailand president Worawi Makudi was named their executive chairman a few weeks ago.

The Swat Cats failed to get a single point early in the season but have secured seven points since Worawi’s arrival.
