Separate raids net 2 huge drug hauls

CRIME: Three people were arrested during a raid in which 400kg of crystal meth and 160kg of ketamine worth around 176 million baht were seized, police said yesterday.

Lucknat Nakdontree, 31, Chayakorn Soponsiri, 25, and Yutthapob Sangpu, 24 were arrested on Tuesday at a house in tambon Bang Mae Nang of Bang Yai district in Nonthaburi.

Police said they picked up the drugs from a small-time dealer in Bang Pa-in district of Ayutthaya, who obtained them from a major dealer in Myanmar, to sell in Bangkok. Investigators are trying to locate more people involved.

Meanwhile, three other people were also arrested on Tuesday for allegedly possessing 374,000 speed pills and 7kg of crystal meth worth around 16.6 million baht. Supoj Theerawongwan, 26, Pallop Sakrattana, 23, and Chanapan Janprom, 24 were nabbed at a house in Bang Khae district, police said.
