Gaysorn Village has positioned Gaysorn Designer Lane as a shopping destination for the latest collections from leading fashion houses.
The retail experience in an urban village ambience is enhanced by the art installation Rise “The Universe Of Biyan”, exhibited until Jan 2022.
Biyan Wanaatmadja is an influential fashion designer, who launched his eponymous label in 1984. His designs combine Indonesian culture with Western couture for pieces in vibrant prints with painstaking details.
Biyan’s latest collection is available at Club 21 multi-label boutique located on the G floor.
Gaysorn Village, Biyan and Club 21 have collaborated on Rise “The Universe Of Biyan”, which translates the Indonesian designer’s iconography into breathtaking spatial design.
Indonesian creative director Felix Tjahyadi worked on three related installations for this collaboration.
Linking the Ratchaprasong skywalk with Gaysorn Village’s entrance, the bridge has been transformed into Cosmic Garden, which represents the birth of the universe. The floor and glass panels are decorated with Biyan’s signature floral motifs and a disguised bird tail.
The circular Cocoon entrance features Supernova, symbolising life energy that flourishes throughout the universe. The hanging 6m-tall installation comprises manually arranged and layered floral motifs.
Inspired by Thailand and Indonesia’s emblematic avians, two mythical birds meticulously crafted from rattan and covered in Biyan’s printed fabric soar above the main atrium of Gaysorn Village. Renascence portrays the dance of the force of nature and symbolises rebirth, transformation and hope.
