Hop, Hub of Photography, is hosting Atit Sornsongkram’s solo exhibition titled “Objects”. Curated by Kittima Chareeprasit from Waiting You Curator Lab, the show features images of peculiar objects that Atit captured while he studying in Germany between 2012-13, as well as more recent photos of objects during a trip to Isan. Through his lens, Atit has framed the seemingly mundane objects in a way that arouses viewers’ curiosity about their purpose and usage (or lack thereof). Some stick out from their surrounding while some seem to be there since time immemorial. To add another dimension to his photos, Atit uses digital photo-manipulation tools to rid the objects of clues of their whereabouts or historical context so viewers can perceive them without any preconceived notions. Hop opens daily from 11am-7pm.
