MWA LAUNCHES “PINEAPPLE FAMILY SEASON 2”

-

The Metropolitan Waterworks Authority (MWA) recently launched the second season of the “Pineapple Family” campaign in Nonthaburi and Samut Prakan, following its success in Bangkok. “To have eyes like a pineapple” is a Thai proverb that means to have friends to look out for your interest. The campaign encourages the public to look out for water leakages on behalf of MWA to combat the problem of water loss. Deputy Interior Minister Nipon Boonyamanee presided over an MoU signing ceremony between MWA, Nonthaburi Governor Suchin Chaichumsak and Deputy Governor of Samut Prakan Chayapoj Charoonpong to launch the campaign in the two provinces. MWA Governor Kavee Areekul, who also attended the ceremony, said that the campaign debuted in 2020 as a way for MWA staff and officers in 50 Bangkok districts to look for water leakages and 10,000 reports were filed, saving 60,189.68 cubic metres. For the second season, he encourages the public to report water leakages through their app and stand a chance to win cash prizes and other items, totalling B1 million.
