Wall Street stocks rallied on Thursday, propelled by relief at a congressional agreement that removed the near-term risk of a US debt default. But some of those gains were erased on Friday as investors digested disappointing jobs data in September, which could complicate the Fed’s plans to scale back stimulus. The Dow Jones industrial average closed down 9 points (0.02%) on Friday to finish the week at 34,746.25, an increase of 1.2% from 34,326.46 the week before.

The SET rallied in response to the pickup in economic activity and optimism about an expanded reopening to tourism in key destinations next month. The index rose 5.69 points on Friday to finish the week at 1,639.41, up 2.1% from 1,605.17 a week earlier.
