MYANMAR Myanmar

-

Asean ministers are discussing not inviting Myanmar junta leader Min Aung Hlaing to an upcoming leaders’ summit, the group’s special envoy to the country said on Wednesday. Erywan Yusof, Brunei’s second foreign affairs minister, said the military junta had made no progress on a peace roadmap agreed earlier by Asean leaders. As well, he said, the junta had not directly responded to his requests to meet detained former leader Aung San Suu Kyi.
