A prize for Tanee?

-

Re: “Prizes for letter writers”, (PostBag, Oct 17).

The idea of awarding prizes to various letter writers is a good one, but I must say that, rather than awarding a prize for the longest letter to the Spokesman for the Chinese embassy, as Ye Olde Bloviator contends, the prize for the longest letter should go to Tanee Sangrat, director-general of Information and spokesperson of the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for writing a piece so long that it filled up the whole section of PostBag, and on a Saturday no less.

Further, the prize for most prolific writer should go to one of Burin Kantabutra,

Samanea Saman or Kuldeep Nagi, and not to Eric Bahrt. While Mr Bahrt clearly would have won the title in years past, he seems to have mellowed up, and is no longer writing as profusely as before.
