Euro’s 20th anniversary

The tower of the main building of the European Central Bank (ECB) is pictured by night on Thursday, showing the illuminated euro currency symbol in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, during a preview of the illumination for the anniversary of the currency. The illumination on the South façade of the building has been organised to celebrate the New Year, which also marks the 20th anniversary of the currency. From today through Jan 9, different messages about the currency in the 15 languages of the European Union will be displayed.
