Thai bid to host heritage meet
The cabinet yesterday agreed to propose Thailand as the host of the 46th ordinary session of the World Heritage Committee to help spur the economy, according to deputy government spokeswoman Traisuree Taisaranakul.
Ms Traisuree said the cabinet had instructed the Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning to work with related agencies to draft the project and estimate overall expenses, before submitting the proposal to the World Heritage Centre.
The proposal will be considered by the World Heritage Committee. This year, the 45th session of the World Heritage Committee will be held from June 19-30 in Kazan, Russia.
