Don’t cherrypick

-

Re: “New gameplan”, (PostBag, Jan 3).

In his latest letter Eric Bahrt has excelled himself.

Urge obese people to loose weight — check we do that, safe distancing guidelines — check we do that, give vaccine information — check we do that. Wait a minute “urge them to ignore the lies of the medical establishment”. OK so that’s vaccine information according to Eric Bahrt, a man with no medical training and who has had no input into producing vaccines — makes sense.

He goes on to say “we have resorted to lies, fear and fascism”, yes you have Mr Bahrt. In your letter of 30-December you imply that a report in the European Journal of Epidemiology concludes that vaccines do not work. However, the report makes no such conclusion and actually says “efforts should be made to encourage populations to get vaccinated”. This is just one example of distorted information in your various letters to PostBag.

By all means Mr. Bahrt, put forward your thoughts on Covid or any other subject but don’t cherry pick bits of information in the hope that this will somehow prove your claims. AJINGPOM
