PORTRAIT POWER

MIRRORLISTIC / JOYMAN GALLERY / UNTIL JAN 9

-

There are many well-known portraits in the art world from Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, James McNeill’s Whistler’s Mother to many self-portraits of famous artists. Keeyapat Katesawai puts his own spin on the painting type by recreating realistic portraits of characters from his childhood such as Mario, Dragon Ball’s Master Roshi and Dr Slump’s Suppaman, as well as famous art masters such as Vincent van Gogh, Rembrandt and Caravaggio. They aren’t meant to be exact representations of his subjects but his own interpretation of them. “Mirrorlistic” is on show at Joyman Gallery (fb.com/ JoymanGallery) on Mahachai Road. This weekend is your last chance.
