NEVER-NEVER LAND

NEVERLAND / ROCK THE ART GALLERY / JAN 8-31

-

Street artist Headache Stencil aptly announced his next solo exhibition, “Neverland”, ahead of Thai Children’s Day. Inspired by J.M. Barrie’s fictional island that is ingrained in pop culture by Disney’s Peter Pan, Headache Stencil put his own sarcastic spin on it, featuring a silhouette of Tinker Bell wearing a Thai headdress and holding a handcuff in the show’s poster. His Neverland is a place where Thai kids would never be allowed to visit. The anonymous artist asks whether Thai kids are given enough opportunity to realise their dreams. He touches on different issues surrounding Thai youth from drug, sex, war, politics, violence, poverty, education and more. It’ll be his first show in Thailand for 2022 before he embarks on a world tour to create street art. “Neverland” takes place from Jan 8-31 at Rock The Art Gallery on Thong Lor 13.
