Drugs found at customs office
CITY: The Customs Department yesterday seized two packages of ecstasy pills with an estimated worth of 50 million baht bound for Laos.
Department spokesman Chaiyut Khamkhun said the drugs were confiscated during an inspection of a shipment at the Bangkok customs office after officials became suspicious of the packages.
The packages originated from Germany and were declared as food items destined for Laos, he said, adding after an X-ray examination, officials opened the packages and found 50,290 ecstasy pills.
