Severe cases needing intubation: 2-3 per 1,000 infections

Cases requiring hospital care: 10-15 per 1,000 infections

Most patients experience mild flu-like symptoms or exhibit none at all

Vaccines and universal protection measures are essential to reduce transmission and severe illness

Omicron is highly transmittable; without proper protection, 9 or 10 out of every 10 people who come into contact with Omicron-infected patients will be infected
