Myanmar MYANMAR
A Myanmar junta court on Monday convicted Aung San Suu Kyi of three more criminal charges, sentencing her to four years in prison in the latest in a series of cases against the ousted civilian leader. Two of the charges related to illegally importing and owning walkie-talkies and one was for breaking coronavirus rules. Junta spokesman Maj Gen Zaw Min Tun said Aung San Suu Kyi, 76, would remain under house arrest while other cases against her proceed. The walkie-talkie charges stem from when soldiers raided her house on the day of the Feb 1 coup last year. In December she was sentenced to for four years for incitement and breaching Covid rules while campaigning.
