Pricey papaya

A vendor grabs a portion of chopped papaya to make a dish of somtam at her stall in Klong See area of Pathum Thani. The price of raw papaya has shot up from between 100-120 baht per 10kg to 250-280 baht now. The vendor said she will hold off on raising food prices fearing it might drive away customers.
