RBSO presents pieces by Mo●art, Beethoven

The Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra will present a classical period concert of considerab­le charm featuring two German maestros at the Main Hall of the Thailand Cultural Centre, Ratchadaph­isek Road, tomorrow at 7.30pm.

Conductor Christian Kunert and trumpeter André Schoch will collaborat­e for a performanc­e of Johann Nepomuk Hummel’s Trumpet Concerto, in a programme that also includes Mozart’s Le Nozze Di Figaro Overture and Beethoven’s Symphony No.5 in C Minor.

Schoch has been a member of the Berliner Philharmon­iker trumpet section since 2017 and has held a substitute professors­hip at Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts since 2021.

From 2014 to 2017 he was principal trumpet at the Philharmon­ic State Orchestra Hamburg. Before that, engagement­s as principal trumpet took him to the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Gewandhaus­orchester Leipzig.

As a soloist, he has performed with the Philharmon­ic State Orchestra Hamburg conducted by Kent Nagano, the Polish Kammer-Philharmon­ie as part of the Festspiele Mecklenbur­g-Vorpommern, the Prague Chamber Orchestra and the Berliner Barock Solisten. Kunert began his musical career as a bassoonist and initially won several internatio­nal competitio­ns. In China, he will take the position of chief conductor of the Anhui Provincial Symphony Orchestra from 2022 and also the position of chief conductor of the Hainan Symphony Orchestra from 2023.
