Dating back to 1828, H. Moser & Cie. has a unique take on 21st century haute horlogerie. In 2005, the Swiss brand simplified the perpetual calendar, resulting in the minimalist Perpetual 1 having merely three hands plus the date.
The new in-house developed and produced HMC 812 calibre powers the steel Streamliner Perpetual Calendar, which embodies the “complexity made simple” philosophy in being an ingenious and practical watch.
The signature fumé dial with a sunburst pattern has a red and white outer minute track that measures the movement of the central seconds hand. In addition, a small red and white central hand points to the months represented by indices.
The model has a guaranteed power reserve of 168 hours, indicated at 10 o’clock.
The seconds, months and power reserve hands are reminiscent of those on the dials of car dashboards or measuring instruments.
Indicating the hours and minutes, three-dimensional curved hands feature inserts made from Globolight, an innovative ceramic-based material containing Super-LumiNova.
The crown and the date window are positioned at 4 o’clock. Thanks to the Flash Calendar mechanism, the date instantaneously changes at midnight, and can be adjusted forwards or backwards at any time of day.
The leap year indicator is located on the movement, visible via the sapphire crystal case back.
The cushion shape of the case has perfectly rounded curves, evoking those of the high-speed Streamliner trains from the 1920s and 30s. With harmonious proportions and aerodynamics, the sculptural piece is topped by a subtly-domed Glassbox-type sapphire crystal.
The 42.3mm case shimmers with alternating brushed and polished surfaces, as well as hollowed and satin-finished forms on the sides, while the bezel boasts a sunray-brushed finish.
The sleek curves extend to the integrated steel bracelet, whose articulated links feature a gentle wave combining a vertical brushed finish with polished surfaces.
