LATEST UPDATE ON THAILAND’S ENTRY MEASURES BY AIR
THE SKY IS GRADUALLY OPEN AND HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The global tourism industry is returning to normal as many countries have eased entry measures during the ongoing pandemic. Thailand’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has done away with the Test & Go scheme for inbound travellers, meaning pre-booking with an SHA Plus+ hotel and on-arrival RT-PCR tests are no longer needed.
However, all travellers are required to register for the Thailand Pass system (via tp.consular.go.th) before entering the country.
Fully-vaccinated travellers who have registered for a Thailand Pass are free to travel anywhere in Thailand.
The required documents to register include a passport, a certificate of vaccination and proof of insurance of at least US$10,000 coverage for medical treatments for non-Thai visitors only.
Visitors who are not fully vaccinated are subject to different rules. To be exempt from quarantine, they can upload proof of a negative RT-PCR test within 72 hours of travel via the Thailand Pass system, on top of the required documents.
On the other hand, travellers who cannot undergo an RT-PCR test result or wish to be quarantined must register for a Thailand Pass with an Alternative Quarantine (AQ) hotel confirmation of five days. They are free to leave after taking an RTPCR test with a negative result on day four or five in Thailand during the mandatory quarantine.
Please note that travellers whose Thailand Pass has already been issued can travel with the registered QR code and do not need to register for a new Thailand Pass.
