CPF showcases innovative trends at new exhibition

-

SET-listed Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF) has unveiled five new food trends for the next decade at THAIFEXANUGA ASIA 2022, Thailand’s top food exhibition.

The event is showcasing innovative products at both a physical trade show and virtual trade show until Saturday.

Anat Julintron, CPF’s executive vice-president of international trade & business development, said that as a food tech company with state-of-theart R&D facilities, the firm created its “Food for the next decade” scheme with the goal of feeding 10 billion consumers with safe, nutritious and sustainable food by 2050.

Mr Anat said the CPF booth at the exhibition is divided into five sections to showcase the future of food trends in the next decade.

The first zone is for plant-based meat, a sustainable product marketed as “Meat Zero”.

The second zone exhibits fresh meat products focusing on food safety and nutritional value, highlighted by Benja Chicken and Cheeva Pork, award-winning U-Farm products from animals fed “superfood” that are raised using highlevel animal welfare standards. This results in meat that is antibiotic-free and with high nutritional values, said CPF.

The “CP Selection” brand offers high-quality products from animals fed with probiotics and is also included in this zone.

The third area displays ready-to-eat meals featuring a variety of frozen food, including chicken products, shrimp wontons, spaghetti, and healthy highfibre, low-calorie menus.

The fourth section displays the healthy drinks brand Innoweness, and Jelly BlackBit, a jelly mixed with herbs and white galangal. The final section is Cooking Helper products, such as soups, sauces and seasonings, to help make cooking at home easier and tastier.

CPF is also producing a daily cooking show from top chefs with a live broadcast via its official Facebook Fan Page.

The company set up a virtual booth that can be accessed via www.cpfvirtualexpo.com.

The company said its Meat Zero won a “Taste Innovation Show 2022” award.

“Plant-based Meat Zero is the food of the future — an alternative meat that is as delicious as real meat,” said Mr Anat.

“This innovative product serves the growing demands of vegan and flexitarian consumers with a variety of choices.”

He said Meat Zero is the best-selling plant-based meat brand in Thailand.

The product is also gaining popularity abroad, resulting in Meat Zero being chosen as the best food innovation at this event from more than 500 entries.

The product also won awards from
