Aung La N Sang eager as his rivals fight

-

Reinier de Ridder will put his One middleweight world championship on the line against Vitaly Bigdash at One 159 on July 22 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium with Aung La N Sang watching closely.

“The Burmese Python” knows well what both men will bring to the One circle when they square off.

The 37-year-old veteran lost the One light-heavyweight and middleweight world titles to De Ridder in back-toback matches. He has faced Bigdash on three occasions, with the Russian star defeating him twice.

Aung La N Sang has a vested interest in the outcome of the highly anticipated battle, as he is planning his next move and sees both athletes as future opponents on his way back to the top.

The ever-gracious Myanmar star knows that his next fights are essential, and although he has respect for both men, he knows he can’t get too close to either of them.

“To me, they could both potentially be my opponents again. So, with all due respect to them, I don’t intend to be their best friend anytime soon. Down the line, if I get to know them more, maybe. But right now, we’re cordial, we’re respectful, and they’re both great athletes,” Aung La N Sang said.

“I’m friendly towards them, and I’m respectful towards them. I’m not best friends with either of them. And, given the chance, I’ll fight them again in a heartbeat. I don’t know, but I feel like if I finish the next few middleweights that I fight, I’ll be back in the mix.”

The Burmese Python is one of the most respected fighters on the One roster, and his impressive record of 12-4 in the promotion includes wins over Leandro Ataides and Brandon Vera.

Although he has suffered defeats to both of the One 159 headliners, he is excited to see the outcome of their bout so he can plan accordingly. “It’s going to be a good fight. They’re both very good competitors, so I’m excited for it, and I’m very familiar with both of them. It’s going to be a good one. It’s an exciting match-up for me, and I’m really looking forward to who’s going to win that one,” Aung La N Sang said.
