Momota will battle it out against top seed Viktor Axelsen of Denmark, who defeated seventh seed Jonatan Christie of Indonesia 21-15, 20-22, 21-11 in the second semi-final match yesterday.

Zhang Shuxian and Zheng Yu of China will vie for the women’s doubles

crown after they upset fifth seeds Mayu Matsumoto and Wakana Nagahara of Japan 11-21, 21-19, 21-17.

They will face Apriyani Rahayu

and Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti after the Indonesian pair defeated Jeong Na-Eun and Kim Hye Jeong of South Korea 21-14, 22-20.

Sixth seeds Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Adrianto of Indonesia defeated Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin of Malaysia 21-14, 21-12 to set up a title showdown against either second seeds Takuro Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi of Japan or fifth seeds Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik of Malaysia.
