More than 1,000 inventions from Thailand and throughout the world will be showcased during “Thailand Inventors’ Day 2023” which kicks off tomorrow and runs daily from 9am to 5pm until Feb 6, at Bitec Event Hall 100-102, Bang Na-Trat Road.

Organised by the National Research Council of Thailand in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, this year’s event focuses on the theme “Driving Thai Economy And Society With Inventions And Innovations”.

This is an opportunity to see innovative creations and research works by established local and international inventors, all of which will in turn inspire younger inventors in Thailand.

The event’s many exhibitions include “The Father Of Thai Invention” held in honour of HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great. Also on display at various zones will be National Research Awards-winning works, 110 internationally awarded inventions, 29 creative innovations as well as value-added inventions.

There will also be an exhibition of nearly 250 inventions from network institutions. These cover six concepts: national security, value-adding agriculture, industries and services of the future, quality learning, innovation for an ageing society and people with disabilities, and green innovation.

Among notable innovations this year are non-allergic plant-based dried meat, AFS detection kit, special oral hygiene set, water hyacinth removal boat, smart gun for formalin detection in food, dynamic prosthetic foot, and label-free electrochemical ATK for Covid-19 diagnosis.

The five-day event also features “Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention And Technology Exposition” comprising 470 inventions from 24 countries; a showcase of around 450 winning creations from the “Thailand New Gen Inventors Awards 2023: I-New Gen Award 2023”; and a market offering innovative goods for purchase.
