Enjoy art above the clouds
Bangkok’s breathtaking skyline has become the backdrop of the pop-up art showcase “Stratosphere”, which is running on the 21st floor of 66 Tower, Sukhumvit 66, daily from 10am to 7pm. It will conclude with an auction on Sunday at 2pm.
Held by the Art Auction Center, the event invites visitors to traverse the stratosphere of innovative ideas and imaginative thinking through a curated selection of 127 artworks on display in the heart of the city and atop a skyscraper.
The artworks are divided into four thematic groups, each representing a different atmospheric phase of the day. They include “Aurora Awakening” that highlights the soft, gentle light of dawn; “Zenith Radiance” that reflects the vibrant colours of the midday Sun to push people beyond their limits; “Twilight Serenade” that gets people to immerse in the contemplative moments of dusk; and “Darkness Descent” that leads us into a realm of dreams and imagination.
Among the highlights are The Dhammapada, a pen on paper by Thawan Duchanee; Universe, an oil on canvas by Pratuang Emjaroen; Kinnaree, a pastel on paper by Chakrabhand Posayakrit; Happiness In Deep Mind, a pastel on paper by Chalermchai Kositpipat; After Adam & Eve, an acrylic on canvas by Kitti Narod; and Bihuhin, an oil on Italian linen by Chaiyasit Jindakul.
The lots also include works by Natee Utarit, Prayat Pongdam, Chatchai Puipia, Krit Ngamsom, MrKreme, Mackcha, Gongkan, Alex Face and Muebon.
