A WELL-CARVED AGATE SNUFF BOTTLE, 1750-1850

This snuff bottle with a carnelian stopper will be auctioned as part of The Ruth and Carl Barron Collection of Fine Chinese Snuff Bottles: Part VI by Christie’s. Crafted from honey-hued agate with dark reliefs, it features a robed figure and two goats. Carved on the reverse are horses, lingzhi and a pine tree. It is expected to fetch in excess of US$30,000.
