a weekend well spent is time cherished – and what better way to charge your batteries and to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life than a getaway to Bangkok’s only innercity resort? Siam Kempinksi Hotel Bangkok is a lush hideaway where a number of signature experiences have been devised to pamper and spoil visitors; a place where guests are lapped up in luxury in a stylish and serene environment.

For the ultimate weekend getaway, check in to a spacious Cabana Room or Duplex Cabana, both of which have direct pool access. Lazy the day away by the pool, surrounded by a beautiful tropical garden, with attendants at your beck and call when refreshments are needed. Enjoy a spa treatment at an outdoor spa cabana, or head off to the sanctuary of Kempinski The Spa, where natural treatments aim to restore to guests the harmony of nature, while rejuvenating and revitalising.

Guests staying at Siam Kempinksi

are treated to a Kempinski Signature Breakfast, where the most important meal of the day is infused with the hotel’s rich European heritage. Like the Bircher Muesli, a special recipe used by Kempinski hotels worldwide. Other breakfast highlights include freshlybaked croissants and pastries; nutritious and healthy “power shots” prepared from a range of nutrient-dense super foods, such as pineapple, carrot, orange and ginger; home-made chocolate spreads (made from a decadent blend of cream, 64 percent Valrhona Manjari dark chocolate and cacao butter); and a selection of freshly squeezed juices.

Likewise, afternoon tea at Siam Kempinski – served on weekends between 2-5pm – is a very special occasion, with a harpist providing elegant background music. “Afternoon Tea Reimagined” is a spectacular culinary journey presented in the plush setting of the hotel’s grand lobby and Hanuman Bar. The five-course afternoon tea set consists of canapés, sandwiches, scones, mini éclairs and mignardises.

Come Sunday, it’s time for Siam Kempinski’s legendary Sunday Rosé Brunch at Brasserie Europa. Wear something pink and enjoy a complimentary upgrade to Louis Roederer Rosé Champagne when a free-flow package is selected. Available from 12.30-4pm, the feast begins with a selection of fresh premium quality seafood on ice, with choices that include Canadian lobster, three kinds of oysters, Alaskan king crab and New Zealand mussels.

The Japanese corner offers sushi and sashimi with a rotation of special dishes such as soba, yakisoba, teriyaki eel, Hokkaido scallops and king crab, while pasta lovers are well catered for with choices such as seafood arrabiata, classic carbonara, and a parmesan wheel with truffle mushroom sauce.

Another highlight of the Sunday brunch is á la carte main courses cooked to order and served at the table. Choices include Norwegian salmon fillet with asparagus casserole in Hollandaise sauce; Hokkaido scallops served with braised leeks and bacon; Wagyu beef medallion “Rossini-style” served with foie gras and sautéed spinach in mushroom sauce; and Murray lamb cutlet with peppermint ricotta sauce and lemon jam.

Just make sure to leave space for dessert! A delighful selection of pink-themed desserts await, such as a dark and milk pink chocolate fountain with condiments; dulce raspberry bagatelle; pink macarons and pink chocolate cupcakes. Other desserts include chocolate sundaes (made to order); an ice-cream and sorbet station; macadamia nut-studded chocolate pound cake; a trio of Valrhona chocolates; and a selection of sweet Thai favourites.

In between all of this pampering and indulgences, the world-class Siam Paragon shopping mall is literally just a few steps away if you’re in the mood for some retail therapy.

In the fast-moving world we live, we all need a little break every now and then. Go ahead, you deserved it!
