Born and raised in a family of golfers, May is the first person from Thailand to win a major golf championsh­ip and take the number one spot on the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. In 2007, at the age of 11, she became the youngest player in history to qualify for a Ladies Profession­al Golf Associatio­n (LPGA) Tour event. In 2017, May became the first Thai winner in LPGA history and the first Asian to be voted “Player of the Year” by the Golf Writers Associatio­n of America. This year, May already won three major tournament­s, including the Scottish Open and the most prestigiou­s major, the US Open.
