Wisit or “Sid” made waves as a writer for Thai horror classic Nang Nak nearly two decades ago, and established his place as a force within the industry, both in Thailand and abroad, with 2000’s debut nostalgic Tears of the Black Tiger. Horror continues to be his genre of choice, though he’s strayed into romantic comedy and even action. This year, the Silpathorn Award-winning director made headlines with the announcement of a series on Netflix, Shimmers, proving that he continues to be on the edge of fiction media in Thailand.
