THINGS TO GRAB NOW & LOVE FOREVER
In 2019, we shall flaunt these new passions and possessions
A Residence Permit in Austria
The land synonymous with The Sound of Music is also the world’s top residence destination, according to the Global Residence Program Index 2018-2019. A wealthy, culturally rich country, it’s also clean, safe and just a residence permit away from being called home if you show proof of liquid assets of €40,000 (and other assets such as a university education or ownership of a home there). An Austrian residence permit allows you to travel visa-free through the Schengen states. Thailand came in fourth, and Singapore, 17th, in this year’s report.
Ardbeg Twenty Something
The third bottling of Ardbeg Twenty Something has been released – a 22 Year Old single malt distilled in 1996 and matured in ex-bourbon casks till recently. We tasted this rare Scotch in November: Its tropical notes settled into a masculine blend of soot and tar, as sweet smoked apple, peppermint tea and vanilla toffee gave way to spicy white pepper, clove, aniseed and eucalyptus oil. Exclusively available at Ardbeg embassy – The Grande Whisky Collection.
Walt Kuhn, Girl with Turban (Zuleika), 1938
This oil-on-canvas masterpiece resonates with the American painter’s signature dark outlines, brooding aesthetic and penchant for portraying circus performers. It is estimated to fetch more than US$300,000 at the Lady Blue Eyes: Property Of Barbara And Frank Sinatra auction, held on December 6 at Sotheby’s. Other goodies in the line-up include the couple’s properties and Barbara’s beloved jewellery collection.
