WHITE ELEPHANT ART AWARDS

The Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) reopened to the public in late May with many precautions in place, including body temperature checks, a cap on the overall number of visitors to certain galleries on different floors, and decreasing the opening hours (now 10am till 5pm Tuesday through Sunday). Thankfully, several of the exhibits currently installed in the gallery have had their runs extended, which means there’s still plenty of time to see the winners of the 9th White Elephant Art Award show. Organised in conjunction with Thai Beverage PCL, this popular annual exhibition – which this year goes under the title ‘The Land of Smiles’ – is comprised of paintings, sculptures, prints, and mixed media of all techniques and materials. The works themselves showcase the talents of up and coming local artists and celebrate the concept of Thainess in all its endless variations.
