All-day Indian

Chef Garima Arora recently closed the doors on Gaa, her much-loved, Michelin-starred restaurant. But when one door closes another opens, and so it is that is here. This amusingly named, multi-purpose eatery is housed on the first floor of a beautifully preserved, and now eclectically decorated 60-yearold Thai house on Sukhumvit Soi 53. By day it’s a breakfast canteen, focusing on drinks and snacks – like cold coffee with burnt ice cream sandwich – as well as healthy and wholesome Indian-inspired dishes: buckwheat pancakes with wild honey and homemade butter; Masala egg oats and with crispy potato and pomelo. Then, at 5pm, it transforms into a wine bar, with a cellar housing close to 3,500 bottles and an à la carte menu showcasing the chef’s inventive twists on favourites such as fresh Indian breads, grilled meat and vegetarian kebabs, and betel leaf chaat.
