THE HEART OF THE HOME
SEASONS, Thailand’s foremost importer of collectible art and décor, is currently showcasing family-inspired Italian luxury furniture from Baxter’s 2020 Collection
A TRUE HOME embodies the spirit and essence of family. It’s the space you share with your loved ones, even if they might not be your actual blood relations. The feeling of warmth, love, laughter, and understanding trickles into every corner and crevice of each room, each piece of furniture, each light fixture, each ornament, each pattern and colour, and each painting or decoration. A true home makes you feel “at home” with yourself and those around you. But in order to design, and masterfully craft furniture fit for such a space, it is believed the creators must embody the very spirit of that which they are trying to create.
Enter Baxter, a family-run Italian luxury furniture brand that is currently being directed by two enlightened Italian uncle and nephew, Luigi and Paolo Bestetti, who also happen to be good friends and great entrepreneurs. Both men not only share family DNA, but also a love for leatherworking, shaping materials and, of course, the mastery of manufacturing gorgeous furniture pieces. With a focus on preserving, rediscovering, and revaluing Italian heritage and weaving it skilfully into contemporary designs fit for our modern-day abodes, the two entrepreneurs have made it their sole mission to create furniture that truly enriches and enhances the lives of the families and homes that use them.
Baxter’s 2020 Collection is eye-catching, to say the least, and seeing as how the home is where people have spent most of their time in 2020, and will probably spend most of their time in the next few years to come, a beautiful interior is now a necessity in any kind of living quarters.
Take a look at Baxter’s latest collection and it’s evident that it is inspired by the ideas of comfort and protection, with organic designs derived from nature and all its forms. Natural figures of stones and rocks – smoothed by time and weathering – are made visible in the various shapes of the pieces, while earthy elements are reflected in the 2020 collection’s sofas, beds, tables, coffee tables, rugs and lighting.
Baxter’s 2020 collection has a lot to offer if you’re thinking of decking out your living room. For a timeless look, there are many pieces to consider. The upholstered Milano sofa, designed by Paola Navone,
is available in 79 colours and textures, ranging from Kashmir Miel and Nabuck Saffron, to Polish Stone, Extra Brown, Kashmir Azure and Texture Night Twill. Other highlights include the small Calix tables in solid lime wood, the Lais lighting in antique brass, and Baxter’s Atlas Pattern 1 carpet, a rug completely handknotted in Kathmandu, Nepal, made from weft and warp in cotton and hand-spun and hand-carded Tibetan wool.
If you’re looking to truly strike an impression amongst guests who come to visit, you might also consider the Brigitte sofa, an expansive 3-seater that really could fit six. Designed by Draga & Aurel, it’s available in 117 colours and textures, with options such as Nabuck Charcoal and Cloister Mud, or Polish Grape and Tuscany Arno. We do feel, however, that the most glorious colour for this model is the Kashmir Turquoise.
Also worth adding to your home are Baxter’s Lazybones Lounge armchairs, designed by Studiopepe, which are available in 117 colours and textures, including Plume Bleu, Kashmir Jade, Nabuck Kiwi, Old England, and Kashmir Rubis. These are a must for those who love unique leather seating with a contemporary look and feel.
When it comes to adding flair to the bedroom, consider the beautiful Baxter stone bed, a leather masterpiece designed by Federico Peri which looks strikingly different to your average place of slumber. Equally enticing is the Yves dressing table, designed by Roberto Lazzeroni, with a base available in satin brass-coated metal, hand-finished burnished metal, or satin nickelled metal, as well as a matte varnish and an MDF frame with leather upholstery. The dressing table, meanwhile, is an opening tabletop with an oval mirror. Other items to look out for are Baxter’s Jorgen chairs, Piombino coffee tables, the Hanami C carpet, and the Nanda, Button Applique, or Therna lighting.
The showcasing of Baxter’s collections is an annual event that usually takes place in the Salone del Mobile Milano, in Italy, but thanks to SEASONS, Thailand’s first and foremost home of imported collectible art and décor, you can marvel over all the stunning 2020 Collection pieces right here in Bangkok at Seasons of Living. Now is the season to get decorating, and what better way to do it than with distinctive and beautifully-crafted furniture and accessories that make a sophisticated statement.
