LIFE IS A CABARET
Hidden on the 3rd floor of the Riverside Plaza, which connects to the Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel, sits the long-awaited bar and club which was originally slated to open under the name ‘Dreadnaught’. The eye-popping, futurist steampunk design, courtesy of Ashley Sutton – of Iron Fairies and Maggie Choo’s fame – features an elongated, tube-like interior that comes alive with moving piston ceiling lights. Equally eye-popping is the live entertainment, with a rotating roster of drag artists, singers, burlesque performers, and more. Open from Thursday to Saturday only, this very LGBTQ friendly venue is already livening up Bangkok’s nightlife scene. As for the cocktails, they’re as wild and wonderful as the décor, with must-trys like the Vaudeville (tequila, Campari, and vermouth), the She-ro (gin, lemon, apple, honey, and truffle), and the colourful Rainbow Flag (rum, pineapple, and orgeat syrup).
