With so many sporting events cancelled due to Covid-19, the announcement that this year’s French Open is set to go ahead as scheduled comes as welcome news for tennis fans. This annual competition is one of the most prestigious events on the world tennis tournament circuit, and as per usual it will be held at the Stade Roland-garros in Paris (the venue is named after the French aviator Roland Garros). If all goes according to plan, fans should expect two exciting weeks of world-class tennis action.
