BAGS: INSIDE OUT
A newly launched exhibit at London’s famed Victoria and Albert Museum explores the style, design, function, and cultural significance of handbags from the 16th century to the present day. There are over 300 iconic objects on display, and some highlights of the show – appropriately titled ‘Bags: Inside Out’ – include the red despatch box owned by Winston Churchill, a rhinestoneencrusted Fabergé egg evening bag by Judith Leiber, a carefully restored Louis Vuitton travel trunk from the early 1900s, and Margaret Thatcher’s famous grey Asprey handbag.
