MANDARIN ORIENTAL RITZ, MADRID
Over the last three years, the Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid has been carefully restored, enhancing its facilities and services while preserving its unique Belle Époque character. This iconic property, originally designed and built under the supervision of legendary hotelier César Ritz, first opened its doors in 1910. Overseeing the historical restoration was Spanish architect Rafael de La-hoz, while French designers Gilles & Boissier took care of the interiors, giving each of the 153 luxuriously appointed rooms – which includes 53 suites – a chic and contemporary residential style. Ideally located in the heart of Madrid’s commercial and cultural district, The Ritz has long been an integral part of society in Spain’s capital, hosting royalty, politicians, corporate leaders, and celebrities. Since the reopening, it’s also poised to become one of the most innovative culinary destinations in Spain, with no less than five on-site dining concepts all overseen by three-michelinstarred chef Quique Dacosta.
