“The ‘Female Sommeliers’ group I belong to began as a weekly study group, where we’d do blind wine tastings and exchange knowledge in order to prepare ourselves for wine exams. We started out small, just gathering in my home, but since then we’ve grown. There are now 24 of us, including Nutawan Jumpanak, winner of the Thailand’s Best Sommelier competition, 2019. I am so grateful to have such a group of great friends who share the same passion for wines. Of course, we didn’t plan it to be ‘women only’, but because we were just inviting friends, and it only spread by word of mouth, it just sort of happened. Anyway, as Beyoncé says, ‘Who run the world? Girls!’”
