Audiences around the world can now experience Soneva Fushi, the award-winning barefoot luxury resort in the Maldives, via virtual reality (VR). Working in partnership with a Uk-based studio, the Soneva team has created best-in-class, personalised VR content to showcase the resort’s unique charms. The exclusive six-part series begins with a look back at the brand’s storied 25-year history, showing how it became a leader in sustainable luxury travel, but it also includes an episode that provides a sneak peek at the resort’s new Soneva Fushi Water Retreats, described as the largest and most luxurious one- and two-bedroom over-water villas in the world. “With many international travellers restricted from visiting the Maldives in person during the pandemic, it felt imperative to create new ways of engaging with audiences that extended above and beyond Soneva’s popular social media channels and consumer newsletters,” explains Sonu Shivdasani, Soneva’s CEO and founder.
