TRÉSOR ASTRAL NECKLACE

The Trésor astral necklace offers a bejeweled depiction of a famous pair of stars visible to the naked eye: Alcor and Mizar, in the constellation of the Great Bear. Very close together, they have been used since ancient times to test the eyesight of children and warriors, especially in Persia. To represent this celestial couple, two sapphires are juxtaposed in a bold tête-à-tête: one, from Sri Lanka, weighing 31.17 carats and the other from Burma, weighing 22.82 carats. It took over a year of research to match these treasures, which despite their distinctly different origins display a harmony of quality and colour: an intense blue, subtly tinged with violet. Their shiny, antique material is shown off by an octagonal cut, which brings out all their character.
