Belmond, a pioneer in luxury travel, recently unveiled a unique design partnership between acclaimed filmmaker Wes Anderson – the man behind The Darjeeling Limited, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and most recently The French Dispatch – and British Pullman. The director, an avid train enthusiast, lends his distinct aesthetic to the glamorous Cygnus carriage, which comes to life with bold colour palettes, art nouveau flourishes, and handcrafted marquetry. The two intimate private coupé seating areas can be booked for up to four persons, for a journey through the British countryside that begins at London’s Victoria station; where the train manager greets guests with priority boarding and ensures free flowing champagne throughout the journey. Over the course of the ride, contemporary British menus are served on special crockery, with additional flourishes from British Pullman’s head chef and exclusive cocktails served in special glassware.
