Lightweight Edition
The sharply contoured 43mm case of Blancpain’s new Bathyscaphe is made of satin-finished grade 23 titanium, a high-end metal – rarely used in watches – that requires extremely challenging machining work. Its anthracite-coloured dial features a handcrafted vertical satin finish that lends a modern matte effect. This is enhanced by the Bathyscaphe’s traditional luminescent baton-type hands, geometric hour markers, as well as a titanium bezel with satin-finished ceramic insert and Liquidmetal time scale. Equipped with the in-house Calibre 1315, a selfwinding movement with a five-day power reserve, the Bathyscaphe Titanium comes with a NATO, anthracite sailcloth strap or a grade 23 satin-finished titanium bracelet. The design of the latter is identical to the bracelets fitted on Fifty Fathoms models, a first for a Bathyscaphe timepiece.
