LIFE LESSONS

-

If you have any intentions to make your mark, it is important to heed life’s most important lessons. How you approach life says a lot about who you are. Some people are perfectly content to passively coast through, hoping they land where they need to be and know what to do when the time comes. Then there are others, who make active choices to understand who they are and what they want – and set the goals that will keep them moving in the right direction.

And so, a big part of having a successful life is learning how to cope with the lessons that life has to teach us. Reflecting back on some of the most inspiring personalities we have had gracing our cover – and more specifically, the secrets to success they’ve shared with us – there have been many pearls of wisdom. For example, that the journey of your success will always begin with the small step of taking a chance. In business, in relationships, and in life, it all begins with a small step grounded in a desire to be better and do better. And the fact that your education is never complete. Determine to live fully and continually learn. Prepare for what life has to teach by being open to the lessons in everything you do and experience.

A very important lesson has been that a good reputation is more valuable than money. Your reputation is built on the foundation of your character; it entails the words you speak and the actions you take. If you take care of your character above all other things, your reputation will take care of itself.

Serial entrepreneur Apichat “Nat” Leenutaphong needs no introduction in Thailand’s business circles. The ever-growing portfolio of successful ventures under the umbrella of Sharich Holdings – which he has built up with his wife, M.L. Ploynapat “Kwan” Leenutaphong – includes the likes of Lamborghini, Swedish hypercar Koenigsegg, NIU smart electric scooters, irobot home cleaning robots, IQAIR high-efficiency air purifiers and air quality monitors, and stylpro makeup brush cleaners and dryers. The couple’s keen interest in the sciences related to health and well-being has also led to the recent launch of their super supplement brand Sharisma, which is already proving to be the next big thing.

“We all have 86,400 seconds in a day,” Nat says. “The reason why some people are happier or more successful than others is because they choose to use time differently.” Alas, this is not the only secret to his success – head over to page 52 for a fascinating insight into his brilliant mind, and all the things that make him such an all-round nice and approachable guy.

And on that note (or words of advice, rather) – to make the most of the time available to you every day – a very happy, successful and prosperous Year of the Tiger to you and your loved ones.

Make every second count!
