It’s an interesting irony that the 2022 edition of the Venice Carnival – a civic celebration that traces its roots all the way back to 1162 – may get postponed due to the current pandemic… despite the fact that the festival is all about wearing masks. However, if things go ahead as planned, visitors to Venice during the latter half of this month can expect lots of amusing antics during this two-week, city-wide extravaganza, including gala dinner balls, a variety of operatic performances, gondola tours, and daily mask-making workshops.
