Raffles London at The OWO
Britain’s Old War Office (OWO), the iconic Whitehall building inhabited by the UK’S most famous statesmen and spies – everyone from Winston Churchill to Ian Fleming – will open in late 2022 as Raffles London at The OWO, a new landmark hotel. Originally designed in 1906 by British architect William Young, this architectural masterpiece is set to become London’s new go-to spot for sophisticated socialites. The family run Hinduja Group is at the helm of the redevelopment, and since 2016 (when the property was acquired) hundreds of artisans have been at work restoring the historic elements, including delicate hand-laid mosaic floors, oak panelling, chandeliers, and a magnificent marble staircase. In addition, famed designer Thierry Despont has been commissioned to bring his impeccable pedigree to the interiors, while the inclusion of no less than 11 restaurants and bars, led by world-class chefs and restaurateurs, will make The OWO the city’s new epicentre for dining.
